Can “The Mutant” three-peat?

The 2025 New York Pro is set for Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Teaneck, NJ. Promoter Steve Weinberger will present the 21st edition of this competition, which also serves as a 2025 Olympia qualifier for nine of the 11 IFBB Professional League divisions. The Wheelchair and Fitness divisions are the only categories not in this show.

The winners of these contests will earn a qualification to compete at the 2025 Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas, NV, on Oct. 9-12, 2025. If the winner has already qualified, no qualification will be awarded.

Men’s Open Athletes to Watch

The main event is the Men’s Open show, which features several stars. These are the three early favorites going into the weekend.

Nick Walker

Walker has won this contest in 2021 and 2024. He did not commit to this event until he finished second to Derek Lunsford at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro. That decision meant that Walker still had to win a contest to qualify for the 2025 Mr. Olympia.

Walker aims to be the first three-time champion in the contest’s history. Combining all those factors makes Walker the early favorite.

Regan Grimes

Regan Grimes took the 2024 season off and wanted to make this show his 2025 season debut. The showdown between him and Walker has fans excited to see how it plays out in Teaneck. Grimes won this contest in 2018 in the Classic Physique division. If he could claim gold at this show, he would be the first athlete to win the New York Pro in two divisions.

William Bonac

William Bonac is a two-time Arnold Classic champion, and he has already qualified for the Olympia thanks to winning the 2025 Detroit Pro. Despite being a pro since 2012, he has never competed at the New York Pro before the 2025 show. Bonac is coming off a fourth-place finish in Pittsburgh.

How to Watch

A live stream of the 2025 New York Pro will be available for fans who cannot attend in person. Details of that live stream can be found on the promoter’s website.
